Guinea eSIM: frequently asked questions

How much does a Guinea eSIM cost?

Guinea eSIM plans start at $5.99. We currently offer 8 different plans for Guinea, so you can pick the data allowance and validity that match your trip instead of paying for a fixed bundle.

How do I get my Guinea eSIM?

Instantly. As soon as your payment is confirmed, the QR code is emailed to you and appears in your account. There's nothing to ship and no counter to queue at. Install it over Wi-Fi before you fly.

When does my Guinea plan start?

Validity starts when the eSIM first connects to a network at your destination, not when you buy it. That means you can install it at home days before you travel and still land in Guinea with your full allowance intact.

How long is a Guinea eSIM valid for?

Our Guinea plans run from 1 to 30 days from activation, so you can match a short city break or a longer trip.

Do I need to remove my normal SIM?

No. An eSIM is a second, digital line, so your existing SIM stays in the phone. Keep your usual number active for calls and texts and use the travel eSIM for data. Just make sure mobile data is set to the eSIM to avoid roaming charges.

Does the Guinea eSIM include a phone number?

No, our travel eSIMs are data-only. There's no local number for regular calls or SMS, but WhatsApp, iMessage, FaceTime and any other app that works over data keep running on your existing number.

Can I top up if I run out of data in Guinea?

Yes. Plans marked "Top-up" can be recharged from your account without installing a new eSIM or scanning another QR code, handy if your trip runs long.

Will my phone work with a Guinea eSIM?

Your phone needs to support eSIM and be carrier-unlocked. Most handsets from 2019 onwards qualify: iPhone XS and newer, Samsung Galaxy S20 and newer, Google Pixel 3 and newer, among others. Dial *#06# and look for an EID number: if one appears, your phone supports eSIM.
